Promoting Your Product

Judging Criteria:

All of the student businesses will be judged using a rubric(s) on the following areas:

• Display Boards, Table and Product Display—looking at creative use of color, graphics and effects.
• Business and Financial Plans—looking for a detailed description of the business and solid understanding of the finances. Marketing sales techniques and pricing strategies need to be described. Participants need to demonstrate the sustainability potential of their business.
• Creativity—the products/services displayed need to demonstrate original thought, creativity and/or the ability to recognize opportunities.
• Presentation to Judges—participants need to display complete knowledge and confidence in their product/service.

Business Plan:

High School and Young Adult programs
• Copy of business plan due April 20, 2012
• Submit 2 copies, black ink only
• Mail or deliver to Generation E Institute
• Bring an original business plan to the showcase
• Judging Rubric:  High School and Young Adult Business Plan
• Judging Rubric:  High School and Young Adult Composite Score
Middle School
• Bring 2 copies of business plan to the showcase (mount one on display board)
• Judging Rubric:  Middle School

Awards:

Awards will be given in the following categories:

• Middle School Business
• High School Business
• Young Adult Business
• Most Creative Business
• Best Business Plan
