Other Student Events

While Showcases are encouraged, different communities have different approaches to celebrate their students' successes.  Individual schools and community organizations may choose to have their students display their businesses or sell their products during a school or community sponsored event.  Most of these events are open to the public as well. Some communities have invited their young entrepreneurs to participate in art fairs, community markets, summer festivals, etc. The event itself is not as important as the chance for the community to celebrate the successes of their youth.

In addition, many GenEI partners participate in events and competitions held in their states.  Students may participate in Global Entrepreneurship Week, National Entrepreneurship Week, the IGNITE Competition, the IIEE Illinois Conference, 4H and FFA events.  Decisions to participate in events are up to each GenEI participating community.

 EXTREME ENTREPRENEURSHIP TOUR

May 18, 2010

The Extreme Entrepreneurship Tour was founded by award-winning young entrepreneurs, Michael Simmons and Sheena Lindahl, when they were just 25-years-old!  The Tour is comprised of many of America's top young entrepreneurs, individuals who have made, earned, or sold a company for millions and/or made a huge impact before the age of 30!  The vision of the tour is for all of America's community members to graduate with an entrepreneurial mindset.  The tour is presented by the National Chamber Foundation (www.FreeEnterprise.com) in partnership with Inc. Magazine and Palo Alto Software.

This event will provide inspiration and practical advice.  Emerging entrepreneurs of all disciplines are invited to attend to learn how they can apply the entrepreneurial mindset to their lives regardless of career choice.
