Other Student Events
While Showcases are encouraged, different communities have different approaches to celebrate their students' successes.· Individual schools and community organizations may choose to have their students display their businesses or sell their products during a school or community sponsored event.· Most of these events are open to the public as well. Some communities have invited their young entrepreneurs to participate in art fairs, community markets, summer festivals, etc. The event itself is not as important as the chance for the community to celebrate the successes of their youth.
In addition, many GenEI partners participate in events and competitions held in their states.··Students may participate in Global Entrepreneurship Week, National Entrepreneurship Week, the IGNITE Competition, the IIEE Illinois Conference, 4H and FFA events.·Decisions to participate in events are up to each GenEI participating community.
Global Entrepreneurship Week November 14-20, 2011
Global Entrepreneurship Week is the world’s largest celebration of the innovators and job creators who launch startups that bring ideas to life, drive economic growth and expand human welfare.
During one week each November, GEW inspires people everywhere through local, national and global activities designed to help them explore their potential as self-starters and innovators. These activities, from large-scale competitions and events to intimate networking gatherings, connect participants to potential collaborators, mentors and even investors—introducing them to new possibilities and exciting opportunities.
