The CfE is a clearing house, providing multiple resources and access to mentors and/or investment capital to entrepreneurs to help them build their enterprises. That assistance consists of entrepreneurship education and training, business plan development, commercialization/acceptance of the new product or service, and capitalization of the idea.
- Coach/Mentor Network- One of the most important aspects of building a business is working with a trusted counselor or advisor. The CfE has a network of knowledgeable, experienced coaches and mentors that partner with small business owners and entrepreneurs.
- Access to Service Providers- The CfE provides access to service providers (accountants, attorneys and various consultants) to help businesses grow as quickly and efficiently as possible. Working with service providers allows the entrepreneur to focus on their core abilities while utilizing expert assistance to give guidance and advice on their niche area-saving time and money.
- Meeting/Conference Space- No cost meeting space and wireless access is available (with prior authorization) at the CfE during normal business hours (Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.). Access to the private conference room is available at no cost to entrepreneurs wishing to meet with clients, vendors, partners, etc. Two rooms are available, a small conference room which accommodates 3-4 people and a larger conference space which accommodates 15-20 people. CfE partners also use these facilities to provide training opportunities for entrepreneurs.
- Financing/Capital Formation- CfE staff work with area financial institutions and loan providers to prepare loan packages, including financial statement preparation, and make connections to potential funders/investors and more. In addition, entrepreneurs can participate in Startup Fest, a weekend-long business competition, to win up to $4,500 in award funds.
